Terms of Service

By using Venn, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Venn. By accessing or using this service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older. If you are under 18, you may not use this service.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Venn to:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Send sexually explicit content without the explicit consent of the other party
• Solicit or share personal identifying information about yourself or others
• Engage in hate speech, discrimination, or targeted harassment based on any protected characteristic
• Coordinate, plan, or discuss illegal activity
• Use automated tools, scripts, or bots to interact with other users or the service
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the operation of the service

3. No accounts and no data storage

Venn does not require account creation and does not store user profiles. Usernames generated during a session are throwaway identifiers and are not stored between sessions. Chat content is not retained after a conversation ends. We do not collect or store personal information beyond what is necessary to route connections (IP address for session management).

4. Ephemeral chat

All conversations on Venn are ephemeral. Messages are relayed between participants in real time and are not stored on our servers after the session ends. We cannot retrieve, review, or reproduce the content of past conversations.

5. Service availability

Venn is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no guarantees about service uptime, matchmaking wait times, or the quality of conversations. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice.

6. Intellectual property

The Venn name, logo, design, and codebase are owned by their respective creators. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Venn's brand assets or code without permission.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Venn and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to harm caused by conversations with other users. You interact with other users entirely at your own risk.

8. User-generated content

You are solely responsible for the content of your conversations. Venn does not endorse or verify any statements made by users. Because conversations are ephemeral and not reviewed by us, you bear full responsibility for what you say.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of Venn after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when terms were last revised.
